What is Delapan Jaya Farm App
Delapan Jaya Farm is an Android-based monitoring application I designed
to address challenges in managing beef cattle farms.
The main problem faced by farm owners was the difficulty of monitoring
partner activities, including feed distribution, cattle health status,
and feed ordering activities.
Background & Objectives
The primary goal of this project was to build an
Android monitoring system that enables farm owners to:
- Track livestock feeding status in real time.
- Identify if any cattle are sick and take immediate action.
- Monitor and record feed ordering activities by partners.
Development
As the Android Developer, I was fully responsible for designing,
implementing, and optimizing the application.
My contributions included:
- Building the User Interface (UI) with Jetpack Compose
to deliver a modern, dynamic, and intuitive user experience.
- Implementing Firebase as the main backend service for authentication,
real-time data storage, and synchronization.
- Integrating WorkManager to handle automated notifications,
ensuring owners and partners stay updated even when the app is not active.
- Applying the MVVM (Model-View-ViewModel) architecture
to keep the codebase structured, scalable, and maintainable.
My Development Workflow
- Requirement Analysis — identified farm management problems and defined app features with stakeholders.
- UI Design — created Jetpack Compose prototypes for responsive and clean layouts.
- Backend Integration — connected the app with Firebase for real-time synchronization and authentication.
- Feature Implementation — added feeding schedule tracking, health monitoring, and feed ordering modules.
- Notifications — implemented WorkManager to push alerts for feeding updates and health issues.
- Testing & Optimization — ensured smooth performance, usability, and stability before deployment.
Results & Impact
With Delapan Jaya Farm, farm owners can now monitor livestock operations
more effectively and efficiently. The system improves transparency of partner activities,
speeds up responses to health issues, and ensures feed supply management runs smoothly.
This project not only delivered a practical solution but also served as an example
of how mobile technology can drive digital transformation in the agricultural sector.
